3 Ingredient Strawberry Chia Jam

You don’t want to know how many times I’ve bought strawberries with the intention of making this before I actually got it together and did it.. Anyway lets not focus on my embarrassing procrastination..

You don’t need anything more than you see in that picture (ok maybe a few more strawberries). You could add a bit of vanilla if you wanted to, but I followed the recipe from Be Whole + Be You. (here) Oh yeah you’ll also see the recipe calls for some lemon juice, which I err.. forgot to err.. put in.

It comes out a lot runnier than I expected even though I tried to blend it for a second or two but Max -my son who never eats anything- had a few spoonfuls and then ate three quarters of this croissant, so that to me is a winner!

Happy Blending

Cake Smash

I am by no means a photographer, but I do have a fancy camera! So when my brother and his girlfriend wanted to do a DIY cake smash photoshoot for my niece’s 1st birthday, I volunteered my kind of skills..

She looks so much like her Dad here, even though my Mum says she can’t see it!

But when you’re dealing with a beautiful model like Sofia Rose you can’t do much wrong.

dsc02773I walked round to their house with a bin bag under my arm, with the fancy frame backdrop I made. (Follow me on Instagram if you don’t know what I’m talking about @amywinterwrites).

As I got on the street, I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be funny if I forgot something *ding* I remembered that I had left the battery for the camera in its charger.. so funny /end sarcasm.

So after a quick trip back, we were able to begin..

Unfortunately Sofia was NOT into the cake at all, she was a bit freaked out it was on her hand and kept wandering off. So we decided go outside and take some pictures out there and Sofia agreed this was a much better idea.

Bank Holiday: Canal Fest!

The last bank holiday before Christmas! Say what?

Don’t even get me started on Christmas, this time last year I had everything planned out, including  timetable of when to start buying and making things, (I made homemade presents each year), this time I am completely lost.. but that is for another post!

I asked around to see whether there was anything going happening in my local area, that we could take Max to. Someone suggested the Canal Festival at Botany Bay.

Botany who, I hear you ask? Its an old Mill building that sits along the canal and it has lots of little boutiques and outlet shops. They also have a soft play called Puddle Town Pirates, where I used to work once upon a time!

So, back to the festival, there were all these canal boats lined up outside the Mill and the car park was full of food and craft stalls and even some live music!

aren’t these just the sweetest?!

It was quite a hot day and the heat really tires Max out so he stayed in the Tula for quite a while just taking it all in, (which was great for us because we didn’t have to worry about him running off and getting lost in all the people), until he spotted the little Giraffes  🙂

We’ve always said Giraffe’s tend to be his favourite animal, and if I ever wondered if we could be wrong, today would have proved it! Out of 3 baskets of little bead-filled animals, he picked out all the giraffes, in different sizes and kept holding them together and making them talk. He wasn’t bothered about the octopus, zebra, turtles or even the snakes!

I stopped at one stall in particular that was selling incense burners and cones and lots of pretty things and I bought one of the little leaves you can see on this picture, it was so hard to choose.

So after one stroll round we were done and realised that it wasn’t quite right for Max’s age, they did have a few games/rides but he was a bit young (or the queue was too long). We headed into the soft play and let Max run wild.

He has a thing for lying down…anywhere

Of course, we brought the Giraffe home  🙂

Well hello there..

..you look familiar.

I’m assuming you’ve come here from my Instagram or Facebook page, which means I don’t exactly have to introduce myself. Dead soz if you have come here by accident and have no idea who this strange person is and why they claim to recognise you! So in the interest of not earning myself any restraining orders I will give you the basics.

I’m Amy, I’m a mum of one and a wife.. of one also and I started a Mummy/Lifestyle/Gentle Parenting Advice YouTube channel in early 2016 and an Instagram account to match. I take really great selfies but even better pictures of my toddler, Max. Though it may have seemed like I had all bases covered, chatting on YouTube, showing off my pictures on Instagram and a bit of both on Facebook, I, like a Disney villain, wanted mooore *cackles*

Well really, I just wanted somewhere else to share moments that were bigger than I could type into an Instagram description box or maybe vent about stuff that was too small for a whole YouTube video. So here we are! Welcome
